Lindani Game & Lodges

An Active Private Waterberg Game Farm

Lindani Game & Lodges is a private Waterberg game farm where the outdoor experience is as important as the accommodation. Sandstone cliffs, open bushveld, streams, woodland and lichen-covered rock create a setting for marked hikes, trail running, mountain biking, birding and carefully managed game viewing from a private stay.

Marked Hiking Trails with Real Variety

Lindani publishes four circular hiking routes from roughly 6 to 12 kilometres, plus a short Tree Walk. The paths pass through changing Waterberg terrain rather than a single uniform landscape, and the farm makes route information available through Trailforks and its own guidance. Select a route for the least experienced member of the party, not merely the longest distance on the map.

Walking in Bushveld Needs Preparation

Even a well-marked private trail can bring heat, uneven rock, steep ground, a sudden storm or an animal encounter. Carry water, sun protection, a charged phone and an offline map, wear shoes with grip and let the office know your plan. Stay on marked routes, do not follow game into cover, and turn around if conditions make the route unsuitable.

Trail Running and Mountain Biking

Natural single track and farm roads give Lindani a broad range of cycling and running options, from easier family rides to longer, more technical outings. Riders must control speed around blind corners and animals, yield appropriately and follow the current route information. No bike hire is offered, so bring a properly maintained bicycle, helmet and the tools needed for a self-sufficient day.

Sandstone Climbing is Specialist Access

The farm, together with the Mountain Club of South Africa, has opened climbing routes on selected sandstone cliffs. This is not casual scrambling. Confirm that the crag is open, use the appropriate climbing partner, equipment and competence, and respect all access or environmental conditions. A marked hiking trail reaching a cliff does not make the cliff a safe or authorised climbing site.

Birds, Game and the Slower Pace of a Farm Stay

Lindani records more than 230 bird species and offers guided options for people who want a deeper introduction to Waterberg plants and wildlife. Bird anywhere the farm permits, but respect lodge privacy areas and do not approach animals for a photograph. The best game viewing often comes from walking quietly or sitting still, not from chasing a list.

Rock Art and Cultural Care

Rock-art visits are among the activities associated with Lindani. These sites are irreplaceable records, not climbing walls or picnic stops. Join only a permitted, properly interpreted visit; do not touch, wet, trace or mark painted surfaces, and never share a sensitive location in a way that encourages unsupervised access.

Before You Go

Read Lindani’s current outdoor-activity guidance and book any guiding or climbing-related arrangements in advance. A private farm offers remarkable freedom, but it works only when every visitor follows the routes and rules that keep it special.
